Tu hai fatto scudo e nutrito tutti anche con il tuo esempio per far fronte alla grande accusa che fece Pio XII con le sue profezione: «La politica del grande consumismo finirà per disorientare l’uomo, che si aggrapperà ancora di più ai beni materiali e ai piaceri della vita, trascurando i contenuti profondi della vita stessa… Assistiamo all’attuazione di un progetto inquietante, perché si tende a condizionare l’uomo a un tipo di vita superficiale, rivolta esclusivamente all’esterno». «Si vuole orientare l’uomo a vivere un’esistenza materialistica… dove contano solamente i beni materiali. Su questa strada, la vita finirà per diventare un’angoscia senza fine» Nelle «visioni» del Santo Padre c’è però, probabilmente, «qualcosa» che invita alla speranza.
